Bunzie's Cove resort, a beautiful boutique hotel (a massive 2 story beach house and surrounding smaller houses and bungalows) on the island of Cebu, was looking for a new and updated web presence and a way to attract more visitors. The hotel appeals to locals and foreigners for different reasons. For locals it is the appeal of spending the day on a private beach with a plethora of water sport options, lounging by the pool and having snacks/drinks at the cafe/bar while waiting for the afternoon/sunset pool parties that were growing in popularity.
Bunzie's was the ideal resort for a wide variety of visitors as every successful hotel is. Its huge beach house with sweeping views of the sea and multiple rooms is ideal for families or a large group of friends looking to spend time by the beach in their very own house. Another quite large house down the hill was divided into upper and lower sections, ideal also for families. friends or couples. Additional cabanas, apartments and bungalows scattered throughout the property were also very appealing as well as the "Lovers' Villa" a secluded cabana perched on the cliffs above the sea for the more "intimacy seeking" guests. There were also smaller rooms to let for the day so visitors could have a safe place to leave their belongings as they enjoyed their day on premises and a place to shower/change at the end of the day.
The new online presence would include a responsive website with easy to identify and use CTA buttons, either for making reservations, checking vacancies and availability, reserving a pick up to/from the airport, virtually touring the resorts' grounds, looking at the site restauant/cafe/bar, its menu and favorite recipes (many shared between its most devoted foodie followers), booking a day at the spa, a day by the pool, a special event at the site restaurant or during the sunset pool party plus a guide for the island with contributions and suggestions from the local staff and visitors who wanted the foreigners and out-of-towners to experience the best their island had to offer while avoiding the usual tourist traps and scams that can ruin so many holidays. Email blasts, weekly and monthly newsletters followed promoting the weeks/months events at the hotels premises, special events calendars, the best videos by users on resorts premises would shared on the hotels site, reviews and suggestions were accepted from all online participants, kayaking and karaoke competitions, or karaoke-while-kayaking as one visitor suggested, all strengthened the resorts social media presence by encouraging visitors whether past or present to engage with one another We wanted everything to be as easy, informative, engaging, intuitive and fun to use as possible.
